Our facility is equipped to provide conscious sedation for endoscopic procedures. Consistent with the recommendations of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) Endoscopy Task Force and requirements put forth by the Canadian Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (CAAASF), GTA Endoscopy Services Inc. has adopted the appropriate facility standards.
Two Dedicated Spacious Procedure Rooms Are Located Within The Facility With:
- State of the art equipment to allow for safe and efficient completion of procedures
- Building standards consistent with the requirements put forth by the
- Canadian Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities
- Large comfortable procedure bed suitable for endoscopy
- Patient monitoring equipment, including ECG monitors, which are verified to be working appropriately before each procedure
- Access to equipment necessary for emergent situations
A Large Anesthetic Recovery Area To Accommodate A Throughput Of A Minimum Of 30 Patients For Endoscopy Per Day With:
- Eight large recovery reclining couches
- Patient monitoring equipment, including blood pressure monitors, ECG monitors, and pulse oximeters are standard and are verified to be working
- Resuscitation equipment necessary for emergent situations
Disinfection Room To Perform High-Level Disinfection With:
- Separated room with adequate space to handle equipment with ease
- Dedicated clean and dirty entrances and exits
- Separate dedicated sink drainage for clean and dirty processes
- Automated endoscope repressor
- Leakage tester
Waiting area with adequate and comfortable seating for persons accompanying patients.
An office separate from the procedure area for patient consultation and administrative purposes.
General building standards include an emergency power source available, which will provide adequate lighting, essential area lighting, and capacity to operate all essential equipment for a period to complete ongoing procedures and recover the patient. A two staged fire alarm is present and all hallways are constructed to accommodate easy passage of stretchers and wheelchairs.
